DASchild Fundraiser

November 14th, 2010

It was an evening of celebration and introduction for DAS Child. Organized by Nalin Decker, her dedicated team of Board of Directors and volunteers, guests enjoyed Thai food and hospitality and mingled in the serene setting of Holbrook Palmer Park in Atherton, Ca.

Nalin spoke of the origins of the foundation, and introduced some of the hardworking people behind the scenes of her growing NGO.  She then introduced Ronnasit Proeksayajiva, the guest of honor and speaker for the evening, who had travelled from Thailand to share some of his personal experiences with the audience. This courageous young man leads The Counter Human Trafficking Unit (CTU), a partner organization for Das Child. His pictures and stories were heartbreaking and eye opening, bringing closer the reality of a world that may at first seem very far away. His poignant words and images spoke of people who have dedicated their lives to fight human trafficking and who are there, at the grassroots level, making a difference every day.

Funds raised from donations and the silent auction at this event will be used to support CTU(The Counter Human Trafficking) and Childlife(Ban Nana).

Baan Nana Needs Help!

May 25th, 2010

Baan Nana (Childlife) is located in the town of Mae Sai in Northern Thailand. During the summer months, many provinces in Northern Thailand are affected by seasonal rainstorms and hail. These storms destroy people’s property and leave huge devastation behind. A tragedy of this magnitude occurred on April 19, 2010.

According to Baan Nana’s newsletter, the shelters’ roofs were ripped off and the kitchen, activities hall, and restrooms were completely destroyed. Over one hundred children were rendered homeless and are struggling to survive with barely enough food, clothes, or electricity as a result.

Something has to give. Or someone has to give.  Will you give? You can save lives and avert disaster by sending a donation to Baan Nana right now!

Donation to Baan Nana. Thank you!
